In this lesson students will explore the Lascaux cave paintings and understand how early humans used animals and symbols to communicate ideas and experiences. Learners will create a textured cave-like surface using wet painting techniques and plastic wrap. They will develop and represent a simple visual story using animals and/or invented symbols with charcoal and pastel. The lesson focuses on combining texture and symbolic imagery to communicate meaning through art.
