In this lesson students will explore colour, texture and contrast while learning about the artist Shaun Tan. Students will create an oil pastel drawing of their own imaginary creatures. Students will then paint black paint over their drawing and scratch it away to create rough textures in their work and build contrast between the dark paint and coloured oil pastels.
